Huawei launches own OS to rival Android

BEIJING: Chinese telecom goliath Huawei divulged its own working framework on Friday, as it faces the risk of losing access to Android frameworks in the midst of raising US-China exchange strains.

Richard Yu, the leader of Huawei's shopper business, told a question and answer session in the southern city of Dongguan that the new framework, called HarmonyOS or HongMeng in Chinese, would "carry more agreement and comfort to the world".

The profoundly foreseen programming is viewed as urgent for the tech gathering's survival as it stands up to an approaching White House prohibition on US organizations offering innovation items to Huawei which could expel its entrance to Google's Android working framework.
